The Goodwins have been spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through song since 1982. The current group members are John Goodwin (Baritone vocals / bass guitar), daughter, Martha Drake (Lead vocals / songwriter / piano), Martha's 6 year old daughter, Katie Drake (Vocals), Brandon Drake (Vocals / guitar / drums) & Martha's husband, Alfred Drake, the group's sound technician.
The Goodwins most recent radio single, Jesus Died Like A Man, gave the group their first #1 song after debuting in the #1 position & remaining there for 4 weeks on the Southern Gospel Times Top 40 Chart. This song also landed many months later at #55 on the Christian Voice Chart as well. Their current single, "Heart Of The King" is presently at #53 on the Christian Voice Charts.
Martha is an accomplished songwriter with many recorded songs to her credit. She is credited with such songs as, "That's My Boy"(recorded by The Wilburns and more recently Cheryl Paige Edelmann), "Amen Corner", "The Walk", "24/7", "Jesus Died Like A Man" & many, many others. Many of today's popular artists have recorded her songs.
The Goodwins goals are to see souls saved & to see Christians uplifted. The Goodwins share songs, testimonies, laughter & tears with every congregation. First and foremost, I am a blood bought child of the King.I spend lots of time looking for my Jesus to appear in the eastern sky, because I think His coming is that near. I am the mother of 2, the grandmother of 2 and have been married to my wonderful husband for 36 yrs.I am a solo Southern Gospel music singer.I have been singing for the Lord for about 5 years now, and am enjoying it very much.I sing for His Glory, not mine.I travel wherever the Lord leads me and try to spread His gospel everywhere I go.I attend Poca Baptist Church every opportunity I have.If I am not singing on the road somewhere, I am at my "Home Church".Please feel free to come worship with us.

The Lord has blessed me with my loving husband Bill, who is a wonderful support in our ministry. There are no words to express how thankful I am for all the blessings I've been given throughout my life. Singing is my way of spreading His word and to show my appreciation to Him.
